Analysis on depression and its influence factors of 488 medical students

  Objective   To study the depression and the influence factors, and to provide basis forpsy chological counseling and interventions.

  Methods   About 488 medical students were chosen by clustersampling method.They were surveyed by using an administered questionnaire.Data were analyzed by spss 11.5.

  Results   The prevalence of depression was 80.6%.Multiple analyses result showed that the influence factors were grade, place of origin, be disappointed in a love affair.The risk of seniorstudents was higherthan that of juniorstudents, The risk of the grade frourstudents was three point fourtimes than that of the grade one students(OR=3.394, P=0.000);The risk of inland students was higherthan that of foreign students(OR=0.622, P=0.069);The students who everbe disappo inted in a love affairwere high-risk than whoneverexperiences that(OR=2.366, P=0.009).

  Conclusion   High incidence of depression ex ists among undergraduates.Some efficient interventions should be taken as prevention.
