Dynamic change of some life habits among personnel on a reef in South China Sea

  •   Objective   To probe into the dynamic change of the diet and some other life habits among the personnel dur- ing the time on a reef in the South China Sea, so as to provide basis for making rational medical health guarantee projects.
      Methods   All the work, which inquired directly and noted down the items in the forms, was done by the medical workers trained uniformly continually for 90 days.
      Results   As the time on the reef prolonged, the appetitive indexand appraisal on diet quality of the perso nnel wore reduced gradually(P < 0.001).For demanding, the vegetable fresh meat, seafood, soy food and birdsc eggs worear ranged in 1~5 order respectively.However, as the time on the reef prolonged, the demand of vegetable food was higher and higher, fresh meat and seafood food were lower and lower(P < 0.01~0.001).The number and the time of people participating in recreational and sport activities were reduced gradualy.Especially, it was more obviously after the ninth week(P < 0.01~0.001).Sleep quality was poorer and was tended to reduce(P < 0.001), but the average quantity that one per son smoked in one poorer, and sleep time was reduced gr adually(P < 0.001).The number of people smoking day was higher in the sixth to ninth week(P < 0.01~0.001).
      Conclusion   During the 3 months that working on the reef, the diet and some other life habits of the personnel has changed in a certain degree.The change of the life habits might reflect the actual physiolog y demand of the body and have a certain negative effects on their physical and mental healthy status.
