Status of mental health and psychosocial factors in three gorges immigrants

  • ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of psychosocial factors on mental health of three gorges immigrants.MethodsThe group sampling was used for the investing both immigrants group and local residents group were investigated by questionnaires including Questionnaire of General Status,Psychosocial Stress Survey for Groups(PSSG),Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS).Results(1)Besides hostility,horror and crankiness,all factor scores of SCL-90 in the immigrants group were higher than that of local residents group;(2)The score of life events,negative emotion and negative coping were also higher than that of local residents group,but the score of positive emotion and positive coping were lower than that of local residents group;(3)The score of objective support,subjective support,support a availability and total support were lower than that of local residents group;(4)By Logistic regression analysis,the psychosocial factors were age,health status,the relationship with local government,social support.ConclusionThe mental health status of immigrants group were much worse than the local residents group.Taking relevant measures according to psychosocial factors was beneficial to three gorges immigrants.
