Relationship between social support/coping styles and psychological health among medical workers

  • ObjectiveTo discover the relationship between the psychological health and social support and coping styles among medical workers.MethodsWith the stratitied random cluster sampling,423 clinical and public health workers were surveyed by Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90),social support scales and coping styles scales.ResultsNo significant difference existed in scores of objective supports,utilization of support between clinical workers and public health workers (P>0.05),and the difference existed in subjective support,total support scores between these two group(P<0.05).For the coping style scores,there was not significant difference in problem-solving,avoiding and reasonable(P>0.05)and there was in self-accusation,fantasy between clinical group and public health group(P<0.05).The correlation analysis result showed that objective support axis cores of SCL-90 scores and other factor scores except for imposition(P<0.05)was positively related with social support and negatively related with passively coping styles.ConclusionSocial support and coping styles have impact on the psychological health among medical workers.
