Mice model etablishment of n-hexane chronic inhalation in mice

ObjectiveTo establish a simple and feasible mice model of n-hexane long-term inhalation for investigating the mechanism of toxicity of n-hexane.Methods24 healthy mice were randomly divided into 4 groups:control group,poisoning groups(4w,8w and 12 w).Primary concentration of n-hexane was 17.6g/m³.At the end of the experiment,the n-hexane concentration of blood was detected,some fresh tissues were prepared for paraffin imbedding and HEstaining.ResultsThe mice of poisoning groups were found less activity and weight.The poisoning groups.average blood concentrations of n-hexane were hig her markedly than that of the control group,and there were some progressive pathologic damage in lungs,livers and kidneys in poisoning groups.ConclusionThis mice model of n-hexane long-term inhalation is useful and feasible to study the mechanism of toxicity of n-hexane.
