Cross-sectional study on direct network report of emergent public health incidents in Chongqing

  • ObjectiveTo understand the status of detection and report and direct network report of emergent public health incidents happenmg in Chongqing in order to provide basis for strengthening the construction of emergency response system.MethodsThe same questionnaire sur vey was carr ied out for 287 emergent pubic health incidents at 34 centers for disease control and prevention(CDCs).ResultsThe direct network report system of all CDCs were managed by specific people.61.8% of the CDCs considered that 90% of emergent pubic health incidents could be reported directly by network.64.7% of the CDCs carried out annual analysis of direct network report.72.1% of the emergent pubic health incidents were reported by medical institution.The major way of report was telephone(92.3%).85.5% of the emer gent pubic health incidents were initially verified within 2 hours,and 66.9% of the ver ification were finished within 6 hours.44.3% of the emergent pubic health incidents were verified with laboatory test.93.7% of incidents was confirmed as emergent pubic health incidents at last.ConclusionEmergent pubic health incidents,preliminary response mechanism,report and managementhave been set up at different levels of CDCs in Chongqing.However,management showld be further strengthened to improve the direct network report.
