Protective effects of Radix Astragali on cell membrane fluidity of ECV 304 cells exposed to high level of glucose

  • Objective To explore the effects of RadixAstragali(RA)on cellmembrane fluidity of ECV 304 cells exposed to high level of glucose through elfin mating free radicals.Methods ECV 304 cells were divided into four groups:nounal cell group,high level glucose group(the cells were exposed to 35m Mglucose),RA group(the cells were exposed to 35m.Mglucose and 500μg/L,RA)and 25mM mannitol group.After the cells were treated for 24 h,the cells from all groups were collected and the levels of MDA,OH、O2- and activeties of SOD as well as the cell membrane fluidity were deter mined.Results The levels of MDA,OH、O2-,in RA group was significantly lower than that of in high level glucose group;the activities of SOD was significantly higher The cellm embrane fluidity was significantly higher than that of in high level glucose group.Conclusion Radix Astragali shows protective effects on cell membrane fluidity of ECV 304 cells exposed to high level of glucose.
