Assessment for immune effectiveness of hepatitis B vaccination among infant population in China

  • ObjectiveTo analyze the effectiveness and benefits of strategy of hepatitis B vaccination implemented among infants for 14 years in China.MethodsOn the basis of available data,the health economic evaluation and decision tree model were determined to analyze system a tically the strategy of infant hepatitis B vaccination for 14 years in China.ResultsA total of 65 229 476 cases(24 423 516 cases in urban area,408 05 960 cases in rural area)hepatitis B virus infection,includding 13 045 894 acute patients,652 294 chronic patients,60 076 cases cirrhos is and 6 007 hepatoma were prevented because of the hepatitis B vaccination among the infants during 1992 through 2005 in China.The BCR was 51.01:1(49.59:1 in urban area,51.91:1 in rural area).ConclusionThe strategy of hepatitis B vaccination performed among the infants in China for 14 years obtained significant results.Decision tree is one of the most useful models to analyze the effectiveness of hepatitis B vaccination.
