Effects of social support on mental health status of clinicians

  • Objective To explore the effects of social support and locus of control on mental health status of clinicians.Methods Two hund reds and seventy-six clinicians were tested with symptom Checklist290(SCL-90),social support rating scale(SSRS),internality,powerful others and chancescale(IPC).Results The status of mental health of the clinicians were better than the norm.Correlative analys is showed that there was a positive correlation between the factor of the power of other people in locus of control and all scales of SCL-90(P<0.01).There were significant correlations between in terpe rsonal sensitivity,depression and psychoticism and the most of factors of the locus of control and social support.Regression analys is revealed that the factors of power of other people and social support were significant predictors of the mental health of the clinicians.Conclusion The mental health status of clinicians was good.The power of the other people inlocus of control and social support can predict the mental health status of the clinicians.
