Knowledge and requirement on tuberculosis prevention and treatment in farmer workers of Jiangxi province

Objective To understand the situation and requirement of knowledge on tuberculosis(TB)prevention and treatment in peasant worker in Jiangxi province for effective implementation of health education and promotion on TB control.Methods Questionnaire survey was conducted among 963 peasant workers.Results The awareness rate of key messages on TB control was 51.6%.The awareness rate of key messages on TB control among the peasant workers with tuberculos is parients a round was significantly higher than that of without TB patients a round.The awareness rate of key messages on TB control among the peasant workers receiving health promotion throughte levision programs was higher than that of through other media.Television was the most popular medium for spreading TB control knowledge.Conclusion The situation of TB control among peasant workers is un-optimistic.Health promotion and education on TB cotrol should be enhanced among peasant workers.
