Anti-Toxoplmasa gondii effect of intranasal vaccination of recombinant T. gondii peroxiredoxin protein in mice

  • Objective To study anti-Toxoplasma goudiieffectof recombinantT gondiiperoxiredoxinprotein (TgPrx) intmnasal vaccination in mice. Methods Seventy five 6-week-old BALB/c mice were randomly divided into 5 groups and were intmnasally inm unized with 10, 20, 30, and 40μg rTgPrx or PBS 20 μL per mouse three times at an interval of 2 weeks A llm icewere intragastrically challenged with 1×1010 tachyzoites of RH strain Toxoplaxina gondiipermouse on 14th day after the last immunization A llmice were killed by dislocation of cervical vertebra on 30th day after the challenge Specific IgC antibodies in seiwn and IgA in intestine washes were detected And the tachyzoites in the liver and the brain were counted. Results The levels of IgC, splenic lymphocyte and intraepithelial lymphocyte in all inmunizedmicewere higher than that of PBS group (P<0.05).The tachyzoite loads in liver and brain in 40μg group were significantly lower than that of PBS group(P<0.05).Conclusion Different doses of rTgPrx induces inmune response against.Toxoplasma gondii Forty μg of rTgPrx induces stronger immunity against Toxoplama gondii than rTgPrx of 10μg, 20μg and 30μg.
