Utiliaztion and demand of community health service among the elderly in a community of Taiyuan

Objective To explore the utilization and dem and of community health service among community elderly population and to provide reliable evidence for developing community health service.Methods With cluster sampling in four community-based health services,257 eledrly clients above 65 years old were selected to receive a face-to-face inter view.SPSS 12.0 statistical package was used to analyze influencing factors.Results Therewere 77.8% of the eledrly selecting comm unity health service for disease treahnent.The overall satisfaction rate for comm nnity health service was 46.34% among the elderly.Among the elderly,60.2% perfered health service facility in the community nearby and 17.9% didnot need medical service at the interview.Conclusion Capacity of community health service needs to be inproved for the potential dem and of health service.
