A case-control study on related factors of longevity in Yimeng mountain area of Shandong province

Objective To explore related factors of longevity(≥95 years old) in Yineng mountain area of Shandong and to provide evidence for health promotion and prolongation of life.Methods Non-matching case-control study was conducted A total of 650 longevity cases and 571 controls were inquired about their personal and family infounation Unconditional logistic regression was perfouned forexploring related factors of longevity and odds ratio(OR value) was employed to express the association between longevity and influencing factors quantitatively.Besides,heritability of longevity was calculated.Results Multivariant unconditional logistic regression analysis indicated that the longevity of father,number of siblings,number of children,alcohol intake,out-going,and healthwere significantly associatedwith longevity,and their OR values were 1.929,0.317,1.319,0.996,3.204,2.832,respectively,(P<0.O5 for all).The heritability was 21.98%.Conclusion Longevity is affected by multiple factors and it is relative to not only heredity but also good environment,healthy life and behavior style.
