Cross-sectional investigation on mild cognitive impairment of aged people in Taiyuan mine area

  • Objective To observe the cognitive status and the prevalence ofmild cognitive inpaiunent(MCI) among aged people in m ine area of Taiyuan city.M etbods A cross-sectional study among people ≥60 years old was conducted with typical sampling in Sept through Dec,2006 in the communities of Taiyuan Cognitive function,social demographic character and physical status of 1 713 people were investigated.And MCI patients were screened in the survey.SPSS 11.0 sofriv are was abopted for statistical analysis.Results The morbidity of MCI in the subjects was 5.43% with significant difference between different age groups(χ2=21.099,p=0.000),different education=8.078,p=0.044),and different marriage status(zm arriage status(χ2=153.494,p=0.000).The score of knowledge was the highest and the space reasoning was the lowest in the male.While in the female the knowledge was the lowest and the shorttin a visual memory was the highest The scores of knowledge,picture arrangement were higher in the male while the number scope,shorttin a visual memory(F=3.186,p=0.010) and scene memory were higher in the female.The score of calculation(F=3.155,p=0.023) and scenememory(F=3.172,p=0.022)were statistical different between different female guoups.Conclusion The different MCI patients have different cognitive in painent.
