Effect of memory training intervention on elderly dysmnesia

  • Objective To evaluate the effect of memory training process on dysmnesia in elder people. Methods The test of the Riveunead Behaviouml Memory Test Second Edition(Riveunead Ⅱ)was carried out among 60 elderm emory inpaiunent people with scores less than 22.The elderly chosen at random in Tangshan communities were randomly divided into intervention group and control group with 30 people in each group. The intervention group was treated with the memory training process. The control group got no treahnent Three months later the effect of the intervention was evaluated. Results After the treahnen' the standard score increased from 17.10±2.38 to 19.90±2..17,and the subtest score of story inmediate recall increased from 0.40±0.56 to 0.93±0.79; inmediate and delayed message recall increased from 1.07±0.83 to 1.63±0.62; the face recognition increased from 1.87±0.43 to 1.93±0.25; the orientation increased from 1.70±0.37 to 1.47±0.68; the appoinhnent recall increased from 1.17±0.79 to 1.73±0.52; the story(delayed) recall increased from 1.07±.69 to 1.57±0.57; the second names increased from 0.70±0.84 to 1.17±0.91; the belongings recall increased from 1.53±0.73 to 1.90±0.31.After the intervention,Riveunead Ⅱ score of experinental group was obvious better than that of the control group with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The individualmemory training process inproves thememory of memory inpaired elderpeople.
