Health status and health service utilization among rural residents of Zhong county in Chongqing

Objective To knowhealth status and health service utilization amongrural residents of Zhong county in Chongqing city to provide evidence for promotion of approp riate technologies.Methods Eighty rural families selected with mutistage stratified random sampling in Zhong country were interviewed with uniform questionnaire.Results The two weeks discase prevalence rate was 30.168%;the chronic disease prevalence rate was 19.14%;the two-weeks attendance rate was 21.21%;the hospitalization rate was 10.04%;the awareness rate of appropriate medicine technologies was 15.09%;the acceptance rate of appropriate technology was 8.93% in the residents.Conclusion The health status of rural residents in Zhong country is lower than that of the national average with high utilization of health services and lowknowledge and acceptance of appropriate medicine technologies for health of rural residents.
