Prevalence of hyperuricemia and association between serum uric acid and glucose,blood lipid among women in Urumqi city

Objective To know the prevalence of hyperuricemia and the association between serumuric acid and glucose,blood lipid among the women in Urumqi.Methods The glucose,serumuric acid(SUA)and body mass index (BMI)were measured among 791 female examinees.The detection results of 191 females with hyperuricemia and 346 health controls from the examinees were analyzed.Results The prevalence of hype ruricemia was 24.15% in the females.The concentrations of SUA and the hyperlipidemia showed significant defferences between the females at various age (P<0.05).The mean SUA(327.23±88.24μmoL)was the highest in the females above the age of 60.The SUA level (317.64±80.45 μmol/L)was higher in the females with menopause.Hyperuricemic females had significantly higher glucose,serum total cholesterol,and trigly ceride(P<0.05).Conclusion Hype ruricemia is positively correlated with age,glucose,tyigly ceride,total choleste ral,and BMI among the females in Urumqi city.
