Risk factors of injury among greenhouse farmers

Objective To explore the prevalence of injury and related factors among greenhouse farmers in Shouguang city,and to provide evidence for effective in tervention.Methods With random sampling,1 018 farmers from 11 towns of Shouguang city were selected and investigated.Occupational injury in previous 12 months and related risk factors were examined.Univariate analysis and multivariate unconditionallo gistic regression analysis were abopted in the analysis.Results The inc idence of occupation related in jury was 71.9%.Physiology condition,psychologic status,social factor,and environment factor were closely related to the occurrence of occupational in jury.Multivariate study showed that health condition(odds ratioOR=0.304,95% confidence in tervalCI=0.173-0.534),greenhouse temperature in summer(OR=0.875,95% CI=0.792-0.966) and in winter(OR=1.245,95% CI=1.124-1.379),humidity in summer(OR=0.942,95% CI=0.914-0.972),width of the greenhouse(OR=1.238,95% CI=1.005-1.525),length of the reenhouse(OR=1.021,95%CI=1.003-1.040),area of the greenhouse(OR=0.355,95% CI=0.181-0.694),height of the green house(OR=0.808,95% CI=0.673-0.969),and wall thickness of the greenho use(OR=0.995,95% CI=0.991-0.998) were related to the occurrence of the in jury.Conclusion The occurrence of in jury related to greenhouse work was correlated to envionmental factors.Effective measurements should be developed to reduce risk behaviors of occupation related injury.
