Effectiveness of community comprehensive intervention for patients with diabetes

Objective To analyze and evaluate the influence of comprehensive intervention on knowledge and control of diabetes in community patients with diabetes.Methods Totally 216 diabetes patients were selected from Kexing community in Kunming city.All the subjects were interviewed with a structured questionnaire and physiscally checked up and thegiven a comprehensive intervention on diabetes.The second survey was carried out one and a half year after the base line survey.Results After the intervention,the awareness rate of the knowledge about diabetes prevention and control was improved significantly.The average blood glucose control rate was improved compared with that of before the intervention(χ²=60.287,P=0.000).The average blood presure control rate was also improved compared to that before the intervention(χ²=32.853,P=0.000).Conclusion Community comprehensive intervention can improve the knowledge about diabetes prevention and control and the control of the disease in community patients with diabetes.
