Objective To study the time-course change in expressions of iNOS and HSP-70 in the livers of mice infected with schistosoma japonicum.
Methods The livers of mice infected with schistosoma japonicum were collected before infection and at day 21, 28, 38, 45 post infection.Total RNA of livers were extracted, time-course change of the mRNA expression of iNOS and protein expression of HSP-70 were detected by RT-PCR and Western-blot, respectively.
Results The mRNA expression of iNOS was detectable in the livers of all infected mice from day 21 post infection other than uninfected mice. The expression was increased at day 28 and reached peak at day 38, while decreased slightly at day 45.Protein expression of HSP70 were detectable in the livers of both infect ed and uninfected mice, the mode of time-course change was as same as that of iNOS.
Conclusion Co-expression of iNOS and HSP-70 in the liver could be induced by the infection of schistosoma japonicum, both iNOS and HSP-70 had the same mode of time-course change in expression.
