Study on effect of dendritic cells and macrophages presenting schistosoma japonicum antigen

  •   Objective   To explore the effect of dendritic cells and macrophages on presenting schistosoma japonicum antigen.
Methods   The soluble egg antigen of schistosoma japonicum(SEA)was used to load dendritic cells and macrophages. The BALB/C mice were immunized by loading cells three times, respectively. The OD values of sera antibody were detected by ELISA method.
Results   The mean antibody level of group of antigen loading dendritic cells(0.1068±0.016)was higher than that of group of antigen loading macrophages and group of unloading dendritic cells(0.0880±0.017 and 0.0825±0.012).
Conclusion   The effect of dendritic cells on presenting schistosoma japonicum antigen was superior to that of macrophages. The dendritic cell was the major antigen presentation cell in the schistosoma japonicum infection.
