Objective To study the characteristics of acute intoxication in emergency department, to offer scientific basis for making the tactics for poisoning intervene.
Methods Collecting data of perspective method in doctors inquired the patient in person and filled in the unified questionnaire.The poisoned patients investigated were admitted in emergency treatment in 4 general hospitals on July 1 2001 to June 30, 2002.
Results 2 620 poisoned cases were investigated altogether in the research.The sex ratio was 0.01:1.The average ages of poisoned cases were 33.51 years old.Workers, peasants and housework labors occupied the top three jobs.Different poisoning types showed different season distribution.Pesticide and drug poisoning took place in home mainly.Food poisoning and other chimcals poisoning happened mainly in the public place and home.Man relied mainly on the accident(73.01%), women relied mainly on committing suicide(56.11%).The other chemicals poisoning was the primary poisoning type.The pesticide poisoning accidental ranked first at 0-9 years old cases.The pesticide poisoning reduced mainly by organophosphate insecticide.Pesticide poisoning was primary type to cause death.The fatality rate of poisoned cases was 8.78‰.The main influence factors of poisoned to death were patient' sage, household register, other organic compound poisoning, benzene and benzene homologue poisoning, illicit drug poisoning.
Conclusion Through this research the characteristics of acute intoxication was obtained, which offered point to treatment in emergency department and poisoning controlling.
