Investigation on cardiovascular risk factors in 7660 adults in Liuzhou

  Objective   To evaluate condition of cardiovascular risk factors in population of Liuzhou in order to provide base investigation for intervention.

  Methods   A cohort of the 7 660 residents of Liuzhou were selected sampled in group, average aged(39.5±11.0)years.The demographic data of the inhabitants and laboratory examinations were investigated.Cardiovascular risk factors included blood pressure, height, weight, waist circumference(WC), fasting blood glucose and lipid of 7660 cases were detected and statistically analyzed.

  Results   The detecting rate of hypertension, impaired fasting glucose, diabetes mellitus(DM), hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, overweight, obesity and large WC were 16.64%, 6.50%, 21.51%, 20.76%, 26.37%, 31.44%, 7.92% and 23.75%, respectively.

  Conclusion   The detecting rate of cardiovascular risk factors in this population were higher.The intervention measures should be adopted in order to decrease the risk factors and reduce occurrence of developing of their cardiovascular diseases.
