Analysis on latent health demands and influential factors of medical service in rural area

  Objective   To identify the latent demands and influential factors of medical service in rural residents.

  Methods   Using stratified-cluster random sampling method, 1839 individuals are interviewed in 5 counties in Yichang rural area.

  Results   The average rate of non-visiting is 13.21%, male of which is 12.01% and female is 15.56%.Through logistic regression analysis, the influencing factors on the non-visiting rate are obtained.They are gender, health status, recognition for health, marriage status, different counties, and so on.

  Conclusion   The cooperative medical system should be improvd in rural areas.It is very important for medical facilities to enhance the service quality, reduce the cost, keep the high medical fee in limits in order to provide more medical help and satisfy the health demand.
