Study on relation between heat shock proteins and heat stress of marcher in desert

  •   Objective   To explore the relation between heat shock proteins and heat stress of marchers without load in dry-heat desert.
Methods   The plasma HSP70 and HSP27, heart beat, rectal temperature and body heat storage index(BH2 SI)of 56 marchers and 14 controls were detected.
Results   Either at the speed of 3.5 km/h or 5.0 km/h, the plasma HSP27 in the marching groups were much more than the control(P < 0.05);and the plasma HSP70 in the marching groups were slightly over the control(P > 0.05);the heart beat in marching groups were more than the control(P < 0.05).BHSIs were much more than the control except that marching for 1 hour at 5.0 km/h.
Conclusion   There was a close relation between HSP27 and heat stress, and no relation between HSP70 and heat stress without load in dry-heat desert. Therefore, the plasma HSP27 was better than HSP70 in the monitor of heat stress. It was the optimum acclimatization to heat that people march for 2 hours at 5.0 km/h in dry-heat desert.
