Objective To study transfusion transmitted virus(TTV)infection and the possibility of the sexual transmission in STD patients.
Methods Anti-TTV IgG was tested by ELISA in the serum of 237 cases of STD patients and 80 cases of normal married adults.
Results Anti-TTV IgG positive rate was much higher in STD patients than in normal married adults(P < 0.005).The higher positive rates in different STD diseases were syphilis, genital herpes, syphilis amalgamating NGU, syphils amalg amating CA, genital herpes amalgamating NGU.The lower positive rate was NGU.There was no significance between the positive rate of anti TTVI gG of male STD patients and that of female STD patients(P > 0.05).There was not iceable significance(P < 0.05).The positive rate of anti-TTVIG of patients spouses was 30.36%, that of normal peoples spouses was 4.55%.Twenty three cases in anti-TTVI gG positive STD group and 7 cases in anti-TTV IgG negative STD group had over six months of frequent brothels history(P < 0.005).The average number of sexual inter course mates was 16.80 in anti-TTV IgG positive STD group and 7.53 in anti-TTV IgG negative STD group(P < 0.01).
Conclusion There was a relatively high TTV infection rate in STD patients. The more time of frequent brothels history and the more numbers of differ ent sexual intercourse mates patients had, the more possibility STD patients were infected TTV.This indicated that sexual transmission might be an other infectious route of TTV.
