Objective To investigate measles neutralization antibody level in healthy population of Qujing city for providing scientific evidence for the implementation of measles control measures.
Methods A total of 205 serum samples of healthy persons composed of 4 age groups were randomly collected from 6 cunties or cities(districts)to detect measles neutralization antibodies.
Results Measles neutralization antibody positive rate was 94.63% with a GMT of 1:34.94.77.56% people's neutralization antibody was more than 1:16.Although, GMT had no significant difference among positive rates, there was significant difference among GMTs by regions, age groups, measles immunization history and disease history.
Conclusion Child -bearing women had immunity to measles in certain degree and the schedule that the first dose was given at 8 month of age was suitable.The reason for the raising of measles incidence rate in our city was that there were some weaknesses in the EPI work and that the protective measles antibody level was lower.
