Study on risk factors of perinatal stage of mental-retardation children in Qinba mountain area

  Objective   In order to find the risk factors of the mental retardation during the perinatal period.

  Methods   1B1 case -control study was used.All status were put into computer, using SPSS software packet.

  Results   The results showed that prenatal care rate, hospital delivery rate, breast feeding rate in the case group were lower than those in the control group.While the fetal position dystocia rate was higher.The risk factors were having no TV set, drinking during pregnancy, complications during delivery, neonatal asphyxia and neonatal infection, et al.OR ranged from 1.68 to 4.46.Breast feeding and sterilization delivery were protective factors, OR were 0.85 and 0.26(P < 0.05)respectively.

  Conclusion   Providing systematic medical-care for the maternity, perfecting labour graphy, expanding sterilization delivery and promoting science delivery, strengthening health education were suggested.
