Etiology of Infectious Diarrhea

The result of etiolcgic examination of 1038 cases of diarrhea occurred in Enshi City from Oct. 1983 to July 1984 is reported. 1038 specimens were examined, and pathogens were detected in 356 of them(34,4%). The positivity rate was higest in September and October (50.5% and 51.5% respectively)and varied from 21.5% to 41.5% in the rest of year. It was significantly higher in patients of age group of 2-6 years and 20一30 years than in the other age groups.
