Prevalenc and Distributive Features of Cerebral Palsy in 1 ～ 8 Years in Rural Areas, Anhui province

A sample of 57014 rural children aged 1～ 8 years old w as selected rom three natdural g eog raphic areas in Anhui province with multistage sampling.All subjects were screened to diagnosis cerebral palsy.The results showed tha t the prevalence of cerebral palsy was 2.07 per 1000.Thee was no sig nificant difference in the prevalenc between males and females.The sig nificant difference in the prevalence was not found in different age g roups.The area distribution of cerebral palsy w as different in the province.The prevalences in south areas of Yangzi River, the areas between Yang zi River and Huaihe River, and the nor th areas of Huaihi River were 3.34 per 1000, 2.09 per 1000, and 1.28 per 1000, respectively.I t is necessary to further disclose the causes of the area distributive features of cerebral palsy.
