Canonical Correlation of Body Composition and Anthropometric Indicators with Pulmonary Ventilation in Children

  • Boey composition indicators of anthropometry and measuremets of pulmonary vkentilation of 147 school children aged 8~12 were measured and analyzed. Canonical correlation was used. The result indicated that there was significant close correlation of factors group consisted of anthropometric indicators and body composition with pulmonary ventilation, which mainly attributed to a positive correlation between height,Lean Body Mass(LBM)and Vital Capacity(VC);Secondly to a negative correlation between % BF and a ratio of Expiratory Reserre Volume to VC(ERV %). It suggests that height was main indipendent variable factor to children′s pulmonary ventilation.
