Abstract:
To investigate the changes in concentration of trace elements and antioridase in serum and inheritance factors in Schizophrenic patients.The concentration of Cu,Zn trace elements and SOD GSH-Px in Schizophrenic patients,first-degree relatives and healthy volunteers were detected by RIA and isoionic illuminating assay.The results showed that the concentration of the serum SOD in Schizophrenic patient was significantly higher than that in healthy volunteers(P<0.01).No significant difference was found among the first-degree relatives,healthy volunteers and Schizophrenic-patients.The activity of GSH-Px was much lower than that in healthy volunteers and first-degree relatives (P<0.01),while there was no significant difference between first-degree relatives and healthy volunteers.The levels of Cu, Zn in Schizophrenic patients and first-degree relatives were significantly lower than that in healthy volunteers(P<0.05).The results indicate that the lower concentration of Cu,Zn leading to the changes of SOD and GSH-Px may play some roles in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia with the genetic factors.

Abstract:
Effect of fluoride on the surfacelayer fluidity was determined by fluorescence polarization technique using ANS as fluorescence probe in vitro in order to further understand the mechanism of cellular effect and membrane toxicity of fluoride.When exposure doses of fluoride from 8 to 32 mmol/L,the fluorescence polarization of ANS in erythrocyte and liver cell membrances was not increased significantly,but the surfacelayre fluidity of synaptic membrane was decreased obviously with negative doseeffect relationship.The results suggest that the effect will be of great significance in membrane toxicity and neurotoxicity of fuoride.

Abstract:
SD rats were exposed to subacute dose cooking oil fumes (COF) in order to observe p53 bcl-2, bax protein level of Lung tissues. Rats of test group and negative group inhaled COF(43±4mg/m3×30min/d×20, 40, 60d) and hot air (30min/d×20,40, 80d) respectively,while positive control group was droped B (a) P from trachea(12mg/kg/5d×20,40,60d). An immunohistochemical study was made to investigate the expression level of P53 gene. In the study,the level P53 of COF and B(a)P group are higher than control group. A close timeeffect relationship was existed in COF group bcl-2 protein level was as like as p53 protein. The level of p53、bcl-2 protein of adenic metaphasin arcad precancerous lesion tissues were higher than other lung tissues,wheras the level of bax protein was lower than control group. This suggested, the expression of apoptosis related to genes may play role in the pathological changes exposed to COF.

Abstract:
The activity of lipoxygenase from rat liver cytosol to co-oxidase 8 chemicals were compared with that of the enzyme from rat lung.The optimum reactive conditions were pH 7.2 in Tris buffer, 3.5 mmol linoleic acid/L and 213 mg cytosolic protein/L for the liver enzyme, and pH 6.5 in Tris buffer,13.5 mmol linoleic acid/L and 213 mg cytosolic protein/L for the lung enzyme.Benzidine co-oxidation by the enzymes from liver and lung was obviously inhibated by nordihydroquaiaretic acid (NDGA) in a concentration-dependent manner.Besides benzidine,tetramethylbenzidine, guaiacal, pyrogallol,tetramythyl-p-pheny lenediamine,azinobis (3-ethybenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid,o-dianisidine and p-phenylenediamine also co-oxidated by the enzymes. Bot the metabolic activity of liver enzyme was only equitvalent to 12%~19% of lung's.The reasons for the difference may be:1. there are different lipoxygenase isozymes in liver and lung 2.the ratio and the amounl of liver enzyme in cytosolic protein are lower than that of lung enzyme. The results suggest that both lipoxygenases from liver and lune are involved in the oxidative processes of some chemicals that possess benzene ring structure and the enzymetic system is a important pathway of chemical metabolism in organisms.

Abstract:
To explore the effect of arsenic to immunefunction by measuring anticomplementary competence (ACC) in sera of rats.The ACC of rats arsenic poisoning was significantly lower than that of the control rats(P<0.05).The ACC of arsenic+selenium group were significantly higher than that of arsenic group(P<0.05), and had no significant difference with control group(p>0.05). There was no significant difference in sera ACC between the two arsenic+selenium group(p>0.05).These results suggested that the lower ACC might be one of the mechanism responsible for the disorder of immune adjustment induced by the arsenic poisning,and the selenium could have a toxicopexis effect.

Abstract:
The effect of static magnetic field on differentiation and proliferation of rat embryo limb hud cell was investigated with micromass culture in Vitro(the intensity was 10mT、20mT、30mT、40mT、50mT、60mT).Embryo limb bud cell of rat(14 day)was subjected to culture for 5 days.The results showed that static magnetic fteld could inhibit differentiation of the cell without affecting cells proliferation.The Concentration of 50% inhibition of cell differ entiation(ICD50)was 52mT.The concentration of 50% inhibitions of cell prolifer ation(ICV50)was 40mT.It is possible that the static magnetic field resulted in abnormality of the cell in exogenesis.

Abstract:
To investigate the effect of arid and hot environment on elements levels of oil workers.Method: The levels of sixteen elements in serum,hair and urine of oil workers were determined by using TY-70 ICP(France).Results: The levels of Li,Ca,Zn,and Se in serum of all objects in summer were significant lower than that in winter,and the levels of Li and Fe in serum of well drilling worker in summer were significant lower than that of the control;the levels of Li,Na,K,Mg,Ca,Sr in urine of all objects in summer time were significant higher than that in winter,and the concentration of Li,Na,Mg,Ca,Al in urine of well drilling worker in summer were significant higher than that of the control;The levels of Ca,Fe,Zn,Al in hair of oil worker in summer time were significant lower than that in the winter,and the levels of K,Ca,Fe,Se,P in hair of oil workers in summer time were significant than that of the control.Conclusion: The results indicated that the arid and hot environment could cause reduction of the levels of elements in oil workers.

Abstract:
To study the mechanism of dietary fiber(DF) on antioxidation in rats,we compared the effect of three kinds of dietary fiber reducing the level of lipid peroxidation with food resdtriction.Wistar rars(50)were randomely divided into 5 groups,3groups were fed with the fibers at a level of 10% in weight,the 4th group were restricted food at level 10% in weight,the 5th consumed stock food as control.After 3 months feeding,for the three dietary fiber groups,the lipid amounts in stool were significantly increased,MDA in serum and RBC membrane were significantly lower than that of the control group.But for the restriction food group,there were no significantly differences to the control group.These results may suggest that the main reason why dietary fiber could prevent oxidation is that DF can affect lipid metabolism.

Detection and Identification of A New Spotted Fever Group Rickettisiae in Fujian Province of China

ObjectiveTo investigate spotted fever group rickettsiae in Fujian province,and to identify a potential new species of spotted fever group rickettsiae Fujian strain(FUJ).Methods: Using nucleotide primers derived from the 190kPa surface antigen gene of Rickettsia rickttsii to amplify a rickettssiaspecific 630bp product in different samples,including ticks and amimal blood.The productions were cloned.The plasmid DNA obtained form positive clone was sequenced.The sequence analysis was made by PHYLIP software package with computer.Results: 17% (17/113) Haemaphysalis yeni ticks were found infected spotted fever group rickettsiae.44.73% (17/38)mice were positive.One of the sequence analysis showed that the DNA sequene was different from other spotted fever group rickettsiae,and close to R.japonic.PCP amplified fragment of 630bp were obtained from Haemaphysalis yeni ticks and the deletion of codon ACT(nucleotides 477 to 480) was found in the new sequence.Three fragments of 123bp,159bp and 347bp were obtaind for restriction enzyme PstI,and nearly identical to three fragments of 123bp,159bp and 350bp from R.japonica.Conclusion: These finings demonstrate that ticks and animal infect a new spotted fever group rickttsiae species in Fujin province of China.

In order to clarify the routes of transmission of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome(HFRS),we carried out a series of studies on the relationship between gamasid mites,chigger mites and HFRS.The results show that gamasid mites and chigger mites were the dominant species in litters of A podem us agrarius the main reservoir of HFRS,their seasonal distribution were correlated with the incidence of human HFRS,they could pierce the normal skin of rodent and human to suck blood,those two mites could naturally be infected by HFRS viras,HFRS virus could be transmitted through the bite of mites among rodents and through transovarial transmission in mites.The antigenicity of HFRS virus isolated from mice and mites were identical.The results indicated that those two mites can serve as transmitting vector of field rodent type of HFRS and act as a reservoir host as well.
A Study on Prevalence and Subtypes of Hepatitis C Virus among Blood Donors in Some Areas of Shandong Province

Abstract:
To investigate the distribution of HCV infection and subtypes among blood donors in some areas of Shandong Province. MethodSerum samples were collected from 424 paid blood donors. Anti-HCV was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Serotypes of anti-HCV positive sera were identified by ELISA and genotypes were determined by RT-PCR.ResultsThe HCV prevalence of 424 blood donors was 21.70% (92/424). It was significantly higher in the donors donating blood and plasma (45.14%) than in the donors with only blood donation (6.94%). Of 92 anti-HCV positive sera detected, 32 (34.78%) were typed by ELISA. 30 (93.75%) were serotype Ⅰ, and 2 (6.25%) serotype Ⅱ. Of these 32 sera, 30 were determined by RT-PCR genotype method. HCV genotypes Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅱ/Ⅲ were 26 (87.67%),3(10%), and Ⅰ(3.33%), respectively. The coincidence rate of the two methods was 93.33% (28/30).ConclusionThe prevalence of HCV among blood donors in some areas of Shandong Province was relatively high. Plasma-donation was a risk factor of HCV infection in blood donors.The prevalent subtypes of HCV were serotype Ⅰ and genotype Ⅱ.

The Risk Factors of Female Lung Adenocarcinoma

The aim of the study was to explore the risk factors of pulmonary adenocarcinoma among female in Shenyang of China.A casecontrol study based on general population was designed and multivariable logistic regression model was applied.72 pulmonary adenocacinoma cases of new diagnosis duration from January,1991 to December,1995,ages 35~69,were studied by 1:1 match.The results showed that the cooking fumes,family history of lung cancer,economic income,numbers of live births and vitamin E were significant risk factors assoiated with adenocarcinoma of the lung.The βcarotene of intak from vegetables and fruits was a protective factor and protective level was 028(95% CI,0.12~0.69),Analysis of the relationship between the indoor air pollution and adenocarcinoma of the lung showed that the risk increased with the level of exposure to cooking fumes increased.The odds ratioin the different levels were 1.33,7.33,1.67 respectively and indicated the doserespond relationship(tend p=0.006).The other important factor was the family history of lung cancer,the OR was 7.65 folds(95% CI,0.90~169.84).The result of multivariable logisic regression model for pulmonary adenocarcinoma among female showed the same results after adjusting confounding factors.

The first HIV carrier was found in 1994 in Chengdu. The amount of HIV infected cases has been increasing in recent years. AIDS preventing becomes one of important problem that Chengdu municipal government faces to. In order to control AIDS, the government has launched a large amount of work for AIDS preventing. AIDS preventing has taken some initial progress. The leading group of AIDS preventing has been built up.《Medium and long term plan of AIDS preventing in Chengdu》was issued. HIV surveillance was launched in high-risk population. But many problems need to solve. The problem of ineffective coordination among concerned organization of government, small recoverrate surveillance, deficient base-line material, unreasonable propaganda way and inadequate preventing fund still exist in Chengdu. To improve this situation, Chengdu municipal government should readjust propaganda way, strengthen coordination, invest more money into AIDS preventing and launch extensive investigation.
