Abstract:
Objective To determine the prevalence of anemia among rural fertile women in Jiangsu province and to examine the relation between anemia and contraceptive use. Methods Data were from the base-line survey of contraceptive adverse reactions in Jiangsu surveillance points.Unconditional logistic regression model was used to analyze risk factors for anemia. Results The overall prevalence of anemia was 42.54% among rural fertile women in Jiangsu province.The risk factors for anemia included: less-developed areas, women aged >35 and elder(OR=1.125, 95%CI: 1.019-1.242), cycle length≤24 days(OR=1.489, 95%CI: 1.047-1.269);The protecting factors were: body mass index(BIM)≥25 kg/m2 (OR=0.693, 95%CI: 0.624-0.770), occupations other than peasant(OR=0.862, 95%CI: 0.776-0.957), scanty period amout(OR=0.805, 95%CI: 0.744-0.871). Conclusion The prevalence of anemia in rural child-bearing age women was very high, leading it to be a severe public health problem; Use of IUDs may be one of risk factors for anemia, medical screening of clients before use should be conducted.

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the phototoxic activity of tetra-(4-methyl)phenyl-porphine(TMPP)toward drosophila melanogaster. Methods The flies were randomly grouped with 20 flies in each by ether anesthesia.The response of flies to irradiation was determined as by the following par ameters: TMPP concentration in the bait(0.5-2.0 g/L); irradiation time(1-2 h); and irradiation intensity(one or two 40 W electric incandescent lamps). Results It was showed that the mortality of the TMPP-fed flies to light was increased with the increase of TMPP concentration in the bait, the extending of irradiation time and the elevating of irradiation intensity.Under the same condition, TMPP showed stronger phototoxic activity than Pa. Conclusion TMPP was a favorable photosensitizer and can be used for insect control.Light played an important role in its phototoxicity.

Abstract:
Objective To explore the heterogeneity of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)in 115 pedigrees. Methods The KruskalWallis, two peaks and correlation were used by PPAP program.Insulin sensitivity index, pancreas secretion index, B cell function index, insulin resistance index, age of onset, body mass index, waist hip ratio and waistline were analyzed. Results The pancreas secretion index and waistline had significance(P=0.029;P=0.031).The proportions of insulin resistance had significance in male and female(37.9% vs 25.2%, P=0.029).The proportions of insulin sensitivity also had significance(88.9% vs 80.0%, P=0.044). Conclusion Heterogeneity existed in function of pancreas secretion and insulin resistance in the pedigress population of T2DM.

Abstract:
Objective To improve the forecasting precision and the step-length of the incidence rate for Haemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome(HFRS), this paper proposed the forecasting method of the seasonal non-tendency time series called wavelet forecasting model. Methods By wavelet decomposing, each level series was forecasted by the ARIMA model.The final forecasting results were composed of these levels forecasting values. Results The 4-step forecasting precision of wavelet forecasting model and ARIMA model was 82.45% and 67.97% respectively. Conclusion Wavelet forecasting model was effective and feasible for the seasonal non-tendency HFRS's incidence rate prediction in the short and the middle term.

Abstract:
Objective To study the kinds and concentration of PAHs released from household pollution-environmental tobacco smoke and heated oil smoke, and the effect of inducing oxidative DNA damage. Methods Collected particles of heated oil smoke and environmental tobacco smoke were quantitatively detected by GC-MS-SIM.With the trachea instillation, 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine, the biomarker of oxidative DNA damage from the rat lung tissue induced by the 10 kinds of PAHs', was detected by HPL C-EC. Results PAHs widely existed in the condensed matters and the particle matters such as heated oil, the main and the side stream tobacco smoke.The mixture compounds of 10 kinds standard PAHs can induce oxidative DNA damage of the rat lung tissue to form 8-OHdG, and had significnat dose-response relationship. Conclusion Genotoxic and carcinogenic effects of PAHs had a path of after metabolized to yield hydroxyl radicals(°OH)to attack DNA.

Abstract:
Objective To analyse the mechanism of dengue virus infection by observing the organic distribution of virus in the infected mouse. Methods Virus isolation and RT-PCR were used to detect the virus and viral RNA.The time-course detection of virus in the mouse blood plasma and liver, spleen, kidney, brain samples were observed. Results The virus existed in the mouse blood plasma and liver, spleen, kidney, brain after mouse were inoculated with dengue virus(NGC strain, clinic strain).The virus duration in the brain was longest.Further more, the virus existence in the mouse infected with clinic strain dengue virus was longer than the group of NGC strain infection. Conclusion The dengue virus was systemic distribution in the infected mouse.And the virulence of clinic strain dengue virus was harder than NGC strain.

Abstract:
Objective To understand the distribution of Stx2 variation, Stx2vha in E.coli O157:H7 isolated from some principal host animals and human in Xuzhou. Methods Stx2 variation, Stx2vha was tested using Southern-blot of particularial probe. Results Among the 66 E.coli O157:H7 isolates examined, 35 was positive of Stx2vha(53%), 13 was positive of Stx2(19.7%)and 17 was negative of Stx2 and Stx2vha(25.8%).One was untyped because its band was different from the others.The 35 with Stx2vha was isolated from feces of human(9, 25.7%)、sheep(13, 37.1%)、cattle(6, 17.1%)、pigs(4, 11.4%)and chickens(3, 4.5%)respectively. Conclusion The isolate with Stx2vha virulence gene were the predominant type of E.coli O157:H7 in Xuzhou, and the prinicipal host was sheep.

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the expression of PKC in the hippocampus neuron of TH deficient rats for finding its role on apoptosis of hippocampus in IDD rats and mechanism of learning memony obstacle. Methods Making animal model with iodine deficient food, using immuchistochemistry to test and count apoptosis, PKC expression on hippocampus neuron. Results The apoptosis was increasd and PKC was reduced in neuron of hippocampus(18.18±2.99), (2.40±1.77), (0.037±0.009), (0.27±0.016). Conclusion Iodine deficiency could affect PKC to reduce, which would result in the apoptosis of neuron in hippocmpus and learning memory disorder.

Abstract:
Objective To develop a polymerase chain reaction(PCR)for specifically detecting all serogroups of leptospira interrogans epidemic in China. Methods A pair of species-specific primers were designed from an 23s rDNA sequence of leptospira interrogans from Genbank.After the primers were identified they were specific and universal by Blast, 18 serogroups of Leptospira interrogans and other pathohens or microbes were detected by PCR.Its sensitivity and specifity were tested.The different sample preparating method was developed, and sera and water samples were tested. Results A specific amplification product with 482 bp length which could be found from eighteen serogroups of leptospira interrogans by PCR, and agarose gel electrophoresis was demonstrated to have a sensitivity of detecting DNAs of eight L.Interrogans.None of DNA amplification products was found from other microbes. Conclusion PCR was a rapid, specific and sensitive and universal method for detecting leptospira in the epidemic regions.

Abstract:
Objective To observe the effect of dietary calcium on obese rat and study the mechanism. Methods Obses rat model was induced by high-fat diet.Then obese rats were randomly divided into four groups and were respectively fed with different diets(basic diets, high-fat diet with 0.25% calcium, high-fat diet with 0.5% calcium, high-fat diet with 1% calcium)for 10 weeks.At the end of experiment, the rats were sacrificed.The blood glucose, serum lipids and hormones were measured. Results High dietary calcium reduced the weight and fat pad of obese rats, decreased serum cholesterol, trigly ceride, serum insulin and plasma neuropeptide Y, and increased serum leptin, serum FT3 and growth hormone. Conclusion High dietary calcium affected the levels of serum leptin, plasma neuropeptide Y, serum FT3 and growth hormone, consequently reduced the weight of obses rats induced by high-fat diet.

Abstract:
Objective To explore the interferential effect of calcium antagonists on cadmium nephrotoxicity, and to provide the theory foundation in preventing cadmium toxicity. Methods Using primary renal tubular epithelial cell culture, the interferential effect of calcium antagonists in renal cell harm were investigated by detecting the activity of LDH、ALP、Ca2+Mg2+-ATPase and the concentration of Ca2+、Cd2+, meanwhile renal cell pathology changes were detected. Results The activity of LDH、Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase in both interferential groups obviously decreased as compared with the cadmium group, while the total cadmium, the non-protein-binding cadmium in nimodipine group did not change as compared with the contrast group, both interferential group could avoid cell harm induced by cadmium in the cell smear. Conclusion Calcium antagonists might have some protection on cadmium-induced renal cell harm.

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effect of sulfur dioxide inhalation on levels of pro-and anti-inflammatory cytokines in lungs and serum of mice and further to elucidate an immunotoxic mechanism of SO2. Methods Levels of interlukin-6(IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)were measured by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results (1) For lung tissues, exposure to SO2 at 14 mg/m3 caused statistically significant increase of IL-6 and TNF-α levels(P < 0.05), at 28 mg/m3 caused statistically highly significant increase of IL-6 levels (P < 0.01)and significant increase of TNF-α(P < 0.05), at 56 mg/m3 caused no any increase of IL-6 and TNF-α levels.SO2 at all concentrations tested could not cause significant changes of TGF-β1 in lung.(2)For serum, SO2 at all concentrations tested could not cause significant changes of IL-6, TNF-α and TGF-β1 levels, except TNF-α at 14 mg/m3 of SO2. Conclusion (1) The levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in lungs were increased in a dose-dependent manner after exposure to SO2, but anti-inflammatory cytokine had no significant difference.(2)In serum, levels of the three cytokines had no significant differences between SO2 exposure and control groups, except TNF-α at 14 mg/m3 of SO2.These results implied that inflammation reaction could be induced in lung tissue by SO2 inhalation and the inflammation reaction might relate to these cytokines.And determination of cytokines in lung may be more valuable than in serum when lung injury was caused by SO2.

Abstract:
Objective For further researching of hCu, Zn-SOD gene engineering, to mutate human copper, zinc-superoxide dismutage gene(hCu, Zn-SOD), and expressed the plamid in E.coli DH5A. Methods The pESOD plamid was constructed firstly, then the Cys111 genetic code of hCu, Zn-SOD gene in the pESOD plamid was mutated into the Ala111 code with sited-directed mutagenesis and the expression plamid pESODT 111 was constructed by inserting the mutated pESOD into pUCMT 1 plamid.The pESODT 111 plamid was expressed in E.coli JM 101.The expression product was determined by Western blot and improved by pyrogallol autoxidation. Results Mutated hCu, Zn-SOD gene expressed in E.coli DH5A correctly, the expression product had SOD activity -16.447 U/ml culture medium. Conclusion The expression product of the mutated hCu, Zn-SOD had activity of native hCu, Zn-SOD.

Abstract:
Objective Through studying the health status of the people residing in cadmium polluted area in Zhenhe, Fujian province, to explore the relationships between cadmium pollution and its adverse effects on population health. Methods The rates of subhealth status and the chronic diseases of the resident in cd-pollution area were studied and compared with those in control areas in Zhenghe with questionnaire, the levels of urinary cadmium, urinary beta-2-micro globulin(β2-Ma) and NAG were measured in lab. Results The average levels of the urinary Cd, β2-Ma and NAG in resident of Cd-pollution area were significantly higher than those in the control area, the rates of headache, dizzy, inappetence, cough and asthma in resident of Cd-pollution area were significantly higher than those in control area; the rates of peptic ulcer disease, bronchitis and urinary system concretion were also higher in resident of Cd-pollution area.Cumulative odds model analysis showed when the other factors(such as age, sex and smoking, et al)were controlled, the health status of the people resided in cadmium polluted area was significantly diferent from those in control area. Conclusion The health status of the resident in the polluted area were influenced by the cadmium pollution.

Abstract:
Objective To select the best smoke generating formula of kindled smoke generator. Methods By application of orthogonal layout, to study the reasonable compounding method and the smoke generating effect according to the technical principle of kindled smoke-carrying-insecticide and the principle of thrifty and simplicity, then find out the satisfactory formula of the best smoke generating effect. Results The compounded smoke generator was easy to be kindled and could combust softly at the speed of 35-45 seconds per 10 g.The smoke generated by this formula was white and had no disgusting smell.The leftovers did not remained fire and combusted completely. Conclusion This smoke generator had reasonable prescription, simple compounding method and remarkable smoke generating effect.

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the prevalence of pathogens of STDs at the Baoan region, Shenzhen. Methods STD routine tests were conducted among 2 015 STD outpatients.The data was retrospectively analyzed and statistically compared. Results Out of 2 015 STDs clinic attendances, 1 266 cases were diagnosed as STDs, the ratio of UU and CT infections were 23.23% and 17.97%, respectively.Their prevalent rates were much higher than other STDs' pathogens.There were 288 cases infected with more then two pathogens, the rate of mixed infection in female was 21. 73%, higher than male. Conclusion CT and UU were the common pathogens in STDs cases in Bao an region, Shenzhen city.14.29% of the whole STDS cases suffered from more than two pathogens, with 21.7% in the female.While practicing at clinic, more attention should be paid to female cases.

Abstract:
Objective To study the relative factors of women's primary osteroporosi's in Yulin City. Methods 664 women aged from 25 to 70 were randomly chosen into the study, and dividied into two groups: the observation group and control group according to bone mineral density.The content of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium were measured and the change of life index were analysed. Results The value of trace elements P and Mg in observation group was lower than that in control group(P < 0.05);The climateric index in observation group was higher than that in control group.Bone mineral density of non-physical actiity group was lower than that of physical activity group(39.1%)and the incidence of osteroporosis in non-physical activity group was higher than that in physical activity group(12.2%). Conclusion There was relation between trace elements P, Mg and change of life index; physical activities and better habits could reduce the incidence of osteroporosis.

Abstract:
Objective To study the impact of blood bank management, blood component and other related factors on getting HIV infection among former paid blood donors in China. Methods According to HIV testing strategy Ⅱ recommended by UN AIDS/WHO, all former paid blood donors of ZY village in the rural central China were asked to participate in HIV antibody screening and to finish questionnaire from October 2002 to March 2003. Results 91 out of 462 former paid blood donors were found HIV antibody positive, and the HIV prevalence was 19.70% with the confidence interval from 16.17% to 23.62%.The former blood donors had commercially donated either whole blood or plasma in 75 blood banks, which were grouped into following 5 categories according to management type: privacy-owned blood bank(PBB), local country-level government-owned blood bank(LCGBB), out country-level government-owned blood bank(OCGBB), district-level government-owned blood bank(DGBB)and military blood bank(MBB).The significant difference was found between different types of blood bank with regard to the frequency of donating either whole blood or plasma.Univariate analysis showed that no HIV infection was found among those who had commercially donated whole blood in all types of blood bank, the HIV prevalence among the donors who donated plasma only in PBB was significantly higher than that only in LCGBB, and the HIV prevalence only in LCGBB was significantly higher than that only in OCGBB.Non-conditional logistic regression showed that donating plasma either in PBBor in LCGBB was the risk factor for getting HIV infection, with adjusted OR value of 2.72 and 1.12 respectively.The HIV prevalence among those donating plasma in PBBand in LCGBB were 72.73% and 20.66% respectively. Conclusion The risk factors of getting HIVinfection among commercially paid blood donors were plasma donation either in PBB or in LCGBB.Health authorities should find out these "problem blood banks", then identify the HIV-infected blood donors who donated plasma in "problem blood bank", which would benefit for estimating the number of HIV-infected donors and setting priority of intervention.

Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of dendritic cells and macrophages on presenting schistosoma japonicum antigen. Methods The soluble egg antigen of schistosoma japonicum(SEA)was used to load dendritic cells and macrophages.The BALB/C mice were immunized by loading cells three times, respectively.The OD values of sera antibody were detected by ELISA method. Results The mean antibody level of group of antigen loading dendritic cells(0.1068±0.016)was higher than that of group of antigen loading macrophages and group of unloading dendritic cells(0.0880±0.017 and 0.0825±0.012). Conclusion The effect of dendritic cells on presenting schistosoma japonicum antigen was superior to that of macrophages.The dendritic cell was the major antigen presentation cell in the schistosoma japonicum infection.

Abstract:
Objective To study the cell molecular mechanism of cadmium-induced renal damage. Methods With Cadmium dose 1.4 mg/kg Cd2+ by celiac injection to make renal damage model in order to observe relation between renal damage and changes of intracellular calcium content. Results The content of protein, N-acetyl-β-glucosaminidase in urine increased continually, GFR decreased, the intracellular calcium increased relatively. Conclusion The damage of intracellular calcium homeostasis leaded to the renal function disorder.

Abstract:
Objective To demonstrate economic benefit of the current strategy for infancy hepatitis B vaccine immunization with the credible data from the disease surveillance of Beijing Disease Control Center. Methods To adopt both methods of multistage sampling and random sampling in the communities and the hospital of Beijing areas respectively.The evaluation for the infant hepatitis B immunization strategy used in Beijing since 1990's was conducted with analysis models of costbenefit. Results 85.83 million Yuan net benefit would be obtained compared with the cost of 6.96 million Yuan for the vaccination.The BCR was 13.33. Conclusion The current immunization strategy of infant hepatitis B vaccination in Beijing would acquire huge economic benefit and it should be consolidated.

Abstract:
Objective To explore the fetation adverse effects of hair curling solution and mousse in mice. Methods The pregnant mice were administered in different concentrations hair curling solution and mousse.The general status of dams and fetus were observed. Results In the hair curling solution group, there were significant reduction in mean dams body weight and increase in skeletal malformation of fetus.In both hair curling solution and mousse groups, at high and low dose, the mean body weight, average body length, tail length, living rate of fetus significantly decreased, however the rate of absorption and the death rate of the embryos increased significantly as compared with control group.At the high dose of hair curling solution and mousse, the exterior malformation rate of fetus was higher than that of control group.The viscera malformation of fetus was not discovered. Conclusion Both hair curling solution and mousse had fetation adverse effects on pregnant and fetal mouse.

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the relationship between hypertension and clinically probable Parkinson's disease (PPD)in the nutrition-deficient population in Linxian county and provide a basis early prevention and treatment for PD. Methods A prospective cohort study was conducted.The blood pressure data of population were collected from the data of baseline survey to subjects in Linxian Nutrition Intervention in 1985.The diagnosis of PPD was made by two steps.First, the cohort was screened by combining questionnaire and physical examination together.Second, those suspicious cases were polydiagnosed by neutral medical experts coming from China and America, as well as according to UK Parkinson's Society Brain Bank Clinical Diagnostic Criteria.And statistic analyses included linear trend test and logistic regression. Results The result of logistic regression showed hypertension was associated with the incidence of clinically probable P Din the population aged over 55 years.RR=1.648(1.147-2.368).When the relation was adjusted by some possible confounding factors, such as age, gender, smoking, drinking, it still existed.Then data were analyzed by different gender.For males, hypertension was not significantly associated with the incidence of clinically probable PD.But for females, hypertension was remarkably associated with the incidence of PPD.RR=2.347(1.347-4.091).And the relation was adjusted by the possible confounding factors, it still existed.RR values increased with the blood pressure increase(Trend test, χ2=11.325, P=0.003)which indicated that there was a dose-response relationship between blood pressure and PPD. Conclusion Hypertension was one of the risk factors for PPD in the female residents older than 55 in Linxian county, and the incidence risk for PPD increased as BP increased.

Abstract:
Objective To express the gender dimension of HIV epidemic through the anlysis of factors related to HIV epidemic. Methods Combination of qualitative interview and quantitative questionnaire survey. Results Both male and female from the general population and PLAWHAs showed no difference on the AIDS awareness.The quantitative survey found the male and female were open minded on the sexual notion, but male were even more open toward extra-marital sex and multiple partner practice.Social environment hosted more tolerant attitude for male to practice pre-marital sex.Qualitative interview among PLWHAs found that the main route of transmission of HIV for male was injecting drug, the main route of transmission of HIV for female was sexual contact.Male with the HIV infection lacked of the sense of responsibility on the condomuse and partner notification. Conclusion Gender awareness should be integrated into the HIVAIDS prevention.AIDS education should be tailored based on the different trait posed by male and female.It was of great significance to stop the HIV at the stage of male dominated period and safegguard the health of women.

Abstract:
Objective To study lead effect of different concentrations on the expression of Nitric Oxide Synthase(NOS1) in mouse brain of developmental period and relation with learning memory function of mouse. Methods To take out the brain tissue of mouse that exposed to differ ent concentration of lead in 5 time segments, such as, P1(postnatal 1d), P8, P15, P22, P30 etc.respectively dividid into groups after homogenate and then proceed to Westem blot experiment. Results The expression of NOS1 in mouse brains of control group decreased gradually from P1 to P30;and in the group of low concentration of lead exposure(0.5 mmol/L), NOS1 increased in a few time segment; and in the groups of higher concentration of lead exposure(2.4-7.2 mmol/L), the expression of NOS1 increased in more time segments; but in the highest concentration groups (9.6-14.4 mmol/L), the NOS1 expression decreased gradually. Conclusion The expression of NOS1 in lead-exposed young mouse brain were different to that in the groups without lead exposure, which indicated that NOS1 may have important relation with development of learning memory function.

Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of soybean isoflavone and calcium on mineral and the expression of bone BMP2, TGF-β1 in ovariectomized rats. Methods Twenty eight female SD rats were randomly divided into four groups: sham, ovariectomized, ovariectomized added calcium〔50 mg/(kg°d)〕, ovariectomized added soybean isoflavone〔100 mg/(kg°d)〕.The content of serum and urine calcium, sodium, potassium were deter mined after ten weeks.The Streptavidin-Peroxidase HistostainTM-Plus Kits was used to detect bone BMP2 and TGF-β1 expression. Results The calcium, sodium of serum and urine in ovariectomized group increased significantly.The bone mineral density, and potassium of serum and urine, bone BMP2 and TGF-β1 decreased significantly.The serum calcium and urine calcium, sodium in ovariectomized added soybean isoflavone group decreased significantly, but the bone mineral density and bone BMP2 and TGF-β1 expression increased significantly(P < 0.05 orP < 0.01).Only the TGF-β1 expression in ovariectomized added calcium group had significantly increace than that of ovariectomized group(P < 0.05). Conclusion The soybean isoflavone may adjust the mineral metabolism and prompt the bone BMP2, TGF-β1 expression to prevent the osteoporosis of ovariectomized rats.

Abstract:
Objective To study the influence of high iodine intake on the anti-oxidation ability in mice and intervention of selenium. Methods 40 Balb/c mice were divied into 5 groups according to weight: control group, high iodine group Ⅰ (3 000 μg/LⅠ), high iodineⅠ(3 000 μg/LⅠ)plus selenium(1 000 μg/L Se)group, high iodine group Ⅱ(5 000 μg/LⅠ) and high iodine Ⅱ(5 000 μg/LⅠ)plus selenium(1 000 μg/L Se)group.The mice were given drinking water including different doses of iodine and selenium.3 months later, related indices were deter mined. Results The mice in high iodine group showed colloid goiter.Compared with control group, serum TT4 level in two high iodine groups increased significantly, serum TT3 in high iodine group Ⅱ decreased obviously; In high iodine group, liver and brain GSH-Px activity decreased, MDA content increased, and GSH-Px activity in high iodine Ⅰ plus selenium group was significantly higher than high iodine group Ⅰ. Abstract:
Objective To study the effects of zinc, selenium, chromium on glucose and lipid metabolism in diabetic rats, and its related biochemical mechanism. Methods 12 rats were randomly selected from 52 male Wistar rats as normal control group(NC group).The rest induced by alloxan into diabetic model were randomly divided into diabetic control group(DM group)treated with water and three other experimental groups(DM+Zn group, DM+Se group, DM+Cr group)supplemented with zinc, selenium, chromium respectively by gavage daily for 60 days.At the end of the treatment, the blood biochemical analysis, pancreatic islets morphological observation were performed. Results Zinc, selenium, chromium could partially improve the disorders of glucose and lipid metabolism of diabetic rats.The effects of zinc and selenium supplement were much better than those of chromium supplement.Zinc, selenium could increase the antioxidant activity and alleviate pathological damage of pancreatic islets in diabetic rats, there was no change in DM+Cr group. Conclusion Zinc, selenium, chromium could improve the disorders of glucose and lipid metabolism in varying degrees by different ways.

Abstract:
Objective To study the protective effects of d-penicillamine and sodium 2, 3-dimercato-1-propanesulfonate on attenuating nephrotoxicity towards rats exposed to mercuric chloride(Hg). Methods 32 Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups.The rats in the first and second groups were respectively subcutaneously(sc.)injected with 0.9% saline and 2.5 mg/kg mercuric chloride, the rats in the third and fourth groups were pretreated with DPA and DMPS respectively at the dose of 200μmol/kg and after 2 h the rats were sc.injected with 2.5 mg/kg Hg.24-hour urine samples were determined for NAG, ALP activities and urinary protein levels.After 48-hour administration the BUN, MDA, GSH and GSH-Px levels were determined. Results DMPS and DPA reduced significantly urinary NAG, ALP activities, urinary proteins and BUN contents, and Hg contents in the kidneys and livers, however there was not any influence on urinary and renal Hg contents. Conclusion DMPS attenuated the damage of Hg in the kidney more efficiently than DPA.

Abstract:
Objective To observe effect of ahylysantinfarctase combined therapy for severe frostbite feet on blood visible component and to explore the therapeutic mechanism. Methods Severe frostbite model was made and ahylysantinfarctase combined therapy was used.Five indexes of blood visible component extracted from rabbit were determined before and at eight-time point after frostbite for 6 weeks. Results WBC count was recovered to normol level in one week; RBC count, HGB, Het were recovered to normol level at 48 h or 72 h; Plete count was drop but there were not accidently defferece compared with group Ⅰ at 24 h after frostbite during ahylysantinfarctase combined therapy was administered.The five indexes of group Ⅰ recovered to normal level in 3-4 weeks after frostbite. Conclusion The blood circulation was improved obviously and inflammation was resisted and prevented effectively.The pathological change was promoted by using ahylysantinfarctase combined therapy.

Abstract:
Objective To invstigate the effects of dietary soybean peptides intake on the concentration of serum total cholesterol(TC)and serum lipids in hyper cholesterolemic rats and to study the mechaisms. Methods Following 28 days of inducing the hypercholesterolemia model successfully, rats were fed a purified diet containing either casein or soy bean peptides.After the rats were fed experimental diets for 56 days, fasting animals were killed. Results In the end of the experiment, TC was(6.41±0.57)and(3.01±0.37)mmol/L in the rats fed diets containing casein and soybean peptides, respectively.Triglyceride(TG)was(3.73±0.70)and(1.09±0.34)mmol/L, respectively.Serum apolipoprotein B(apoB)was (0.62±0.11)and(0.31±0.07)g/L, respectively.Accordingly, FT4 was(1.03±0.22)and(1.76±0.30)pmol/L, respectively.Comparing with the rats in casein group, the TC, TG and apoB in soybean peptides group were significantly low (P < 0.05).The concentration of FT4 was higher in the rats of soybean peptides group(P < 0.05).Whereas, the changes of HDL-C, apoA, FT3, TSH and insulin(INS)were not significant in these rats. Conclusion Dietary soybean peptides intake may lower TC by changing the concentrations of apoB and FT4.Further researches were needed for explaining the possible mechanism of soybean peptides intake on lowing TC.

Abstract:
Objective To construct an eukaryotic expression vector carrying human glutathione-S-transferase(GST)M1 gene and to determine partial sequence analysis. Methods The GSTM1 cDNA was amplified and extracted from human lung total RNAs by RT-PCR approach and recombined with eukaryotic expression vector pcDNA311.The recombined plasmid pcDNA 3.1-hGSTM1 was verified using PCR, restriction analysis and sequencing determination. Results Human GSTM1 gene was recombined correctly with pcDNA311, compared with genbank, in code 619 C→A, amino acid Pro→Thr, in code 519, C→G, in code 528, C→T, animo acids were not changed.GenBank accession was A Y532926. Conclusion The eukaryotic expression vector pcDNA3.1-hGSTM1 was constructed for research detoxicitic mechanism in eukaryotic cell tranins and animals.

Abstract:
Objective To compare the DNA oxidative injuries of people exposed to arsenic in drinking water before and after water mitigation project for one year. Methods People exposed to arsenic in drinking water were selected in Gangfangying village, inner Mongolia.The skin lesions induced by arsenic were compared; The concentrations of total arsenic, inorganic arsenic, monomethylarsonic acid and dimethylarsinic acid of urine, the levels of urine 8-hydroxy-2'-deox yguanosine (8-OH-dG)were measured by AAS and ELISA, respectively. Results The skin lesions induced by arsenic were improved markedly after water mitigation project for one year; The concentrations of total arsenic, inorganic arsenic, monomethylarsonic acid, dimethylarsinic acid of urine and the levels of urine 8-OH-dGall decreased significantly. Conclusion Water mitigation project was an effective intervention method in endmic arsenic areas.Skin lesions of people exposed to arsenic in drinking water were improved and their DNAoxidative injuries decreased after one-year water mitigation.

Abstract:
Objective To study the relationship of polymorphism of GSTM1 and diet factors with lung cancer risk in Guangzhou. Methods A case-control study which included 58 cases of lung cancer and 62 controls was conducted.All subjects were investigated with a uniform questionaire.The genotypes of GSTM1 were detected by PCR. Results There was no significant association between the genotypes of GSTM1 and the risk of lung cancer(OR 1.73, 95%CI 0.84-3.58);The consumption of carrot was significant inversely correlated with the risk of lung cancer(OR 0.24, 95%CI 0.10-0.58).Cooking with animal oil was negatively and significantly associated with the risk of lung cancer(OR 5.34, 95%CI 1.1320.16).There was significant association between lung cancer and the consumption of carrot(OR 3.53, 95%CI 1.2413.03)after multivariable-adjusted logistic regression model. Conclusion There was not significant association between the polymorphism of GSTM1 and the risk of lung cancer.Cooking with animal oil significantly increased the risk of lung cancer.Consumption of carrot significantly reduced the risk of lung cancer.A combined effect of polymorphism of GSTM1 and consumption of carrot on the risk of lung cancer was suggested.

Abstract:
Objective To study the characteristics of acute intoxication in emergency department, to offer scientific basis for making the tactics for poisoning intervene. Methods Collecting data of perspective method in doctors inquired the patient in person and filled in the unified questionnaire.The poisoned patients investigated were admitted in emergency treatment in 4 general hospitals on July 1 2001 to June 30, 2002. Results 2 620 poisoned cases were investigated altogether in the research.The sex ratio was 0.01:1.The average ages of poisoned cases were 33.51 years old.Workers, peasants and housework labors occupied the top three jobs.Different poisoning types showed different season distribution.Pesticide and drug poisoning took place in home mainly.Food poisoning and other chimcals poisoning happened mainly in the public place and home.Man relied mainly on the accident(73.01%), women relied mainly on committing suicide(56.11%).The other chemicals poisoning was the primary poisoning type.The pesticide poisoning accidental ranked first at 0-9 years old cases.The pesticide poisoning reduced mainly by organophosphate insecticide.Pesticide poisoning was primary type to cause death.The fatality rate of poisoned cases was 8.78‰.The main influence factors of poisoned to death were patient' sage, household register, other organic compound poisoning, benzene and benzene homologue poisoning, illicit drug poisoning. Conclusion Through this research the characteristics of acute intoxication was obtained, which offered point to treatment in emergency department and poisoning controlling.

Abstract:
Objective To isolate orientia Tsutsugamushi(Ot)from patients, host animal(Rodents)and vector mite (trombiculid mite)on Pingtan island and analyze the gene of Ot DNA for the purpose of prevention. Methods The mice were peritoneal injected by untreated patient's blood, spleen of rodent and leptotrombidium(L.)Deliense respectively and the Ot were observed from infected mice on the microscope.Then the 1 350 bp DNA fragment encoding the Ot 56kD protein can be amplified after Ot DNA being extracted from spleen of the infected mice.The specific genes were sequenced and compared with those of standard strains karp, kato, Gilliam, kawasaki and Kuroki for their homology analysis. Results Three Ot strains were isolated from patient, host rodent and vector mite respectively.The typical Ot can be seen in the cytoplasm of infected cell on the microscope.About 1 350 bp DNA fragments of 56kD protein were amplified and sequenced.The three isolates were almost identical to each other(with nucleotide sequence homology > 99.5%).Compared with Karp, kato, Gilliam, Kawasaki, Kuroki, their gene sequence homology of 56kD protein were 93.8%, 66.2%, 85.1%, 69.6%, 84.2% respectively. Conclusion This was the first report of scrub typhus in the season of spring and also firstly identifying the Ot by molecular technique on Pingtan island.The Ot strains here were highly homologous to Karp type.

Abstract:
Objective To probe the model of psychological health education in college students and to improve the psychological health level. Methods With stratified group sampling, the college students accepted different psychological health education involving in psychological education, psychological prevention, psychological training.SCL-90 scores before education were compared with those after the education. Results After practicing the education model, all the 8 psychological factor scores were lower than those before education with significance at 0.05 level in imposition, interpersonal relationship, anxiety, horror, crankiness. Conclusion The education model practiced in college would be effective to keep psychological health, to benefit psychological development, to improve psychological endurance.

Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the personal psychology burden of hepatitis B. Methods A household survey was conducted with the questionnaires among 235 hepatitis B patients.The weights of personal psychology burden were obtained from expersts' opinions with Delphi method.The personal psychology burden's values and their corresponding descending order were calculated according to the weights and the data from the household survey. Results All the hepatitis B patients had different psychology burden, the rank of psychology burden was succesively liver cancer, liver cirrhosis, acute hepatit is B, chronic hepatitis B and HBsAg carrier after descending order processing. Conclusion The personal psychology burden of hepatitis B cannot be ignored and the corresponding measurment scale should be developed further.It was necessary to carry out a certain social psychology intervention in the comprehensive prevention and treatment of hepatitis B.
