Research advances in the methods for tracing the origins of dengue fever outbreaks:a review
-
Abstract
This study explores and summarizes existing analytical methods for tracing the origins of dengue fever, including the techniques based on epidemiology, genomics, molecular phylogeny of the dengue virus, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). These approaches reveal the transmission routes, mutations, and host adaptation of the dengue virus from different perspectives. This paper introduces the applicability of these methods across different geographical regions and temporal scales and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of these methods in practical applications to provide insights for the development of novel tracing technologies in the future. The aim is to enhance the understanding about the transmission mechanisms of dengue fever and offer technical support for the tracing, prediction, and control of dengue fever outbreaks.
