ObjectiveTo analyze the scores of grass-roots health workers in a medical knowledge test.MethodsA closed-book test was used to examine the level of knowledge in 850 grass-roots health workers.Descriptive analysis and one-way analysis of variance were carried out.ResultsThe average scores of physicians,nurses,and prevention and health care workers were 60.13±9.30,61.69±9.38 and 63.49±10.01,respectively.The physicians who had higher levels of education and the health workers who had a 6-15 years work experience had higher scores in the test.ConclusionThe grass-roots health workers have low level of medical knowledge and the quality of grass-roots health workers should be improved by recruitment of college graduates and continuing education.
