Progress in researches on associations of infant and child feeding index with growth and development

  • Feeding behavior during infant and childhood has an important impact on growth and development of infant and child. In order to evaluate feeding behavior comprehensively, foreign scholars have put forward the concept of infant and child feeding index (ICFI) and the scoring standard. In recent years, the scoring standard and the relationship between ICFI and growth and development have been continuously studied at home and abroad. A total of 24 literatures were collected with computer search through PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wanfang database. The evaluation criteria of ICFI and research progress on the relationship between ICFI and growth and development of infants and children were summarized to provide evidences for scientific evaluation on nutritional status of infants and young children.
