Impact factors for promotion and application of appropriate health technique in China, 2006 – 2016: a systematic review

  •   Objective  To systematically evaluate impact factors for the promotion and application of appropriate health technique in China during the period from 2006 to 2016 for providing suggestions for future researches.
      Methods  We searched relevant domestic literatures published from December 30, 2006 to December 30, 2016 through China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Service System (SinoMed), and VIP Chinese Periodical Database and we also conducted manual and retrospective retrieval for supplementary search. Major impact factors for promotion and application of appropriate health technique were analyzed.
      Results  The study finally included 17 Chinese literatures, of which 11 were studies on the promotion of appropriate traditional Chinese medicine technique and 7 were studies on the promotion of appropriate western medicine technique. The participants of the 17 cross-sectional studies were mainly grassroots medical personnel or organization staff engaged in appropriate health technique promotion, patients receiving treatment or medical service covered by appropriate health technique promotion projects, and project managers or medical institution directors involved in appropriate health technique promotion. The explored major impact factors for the promotion and application appropriate health technique in the 17 studies included technique provider (being referred in 11 studies), technique demander (10 studies), technique suitability (9 studies), project management (7 studies), technique holder (7 studies), project funding (6 studies), and promotion mechanism (one study).
      Conclusion  During the period from 2006 to 2016, the main impact factors for the promotion and application of appropriate health technique in China included technique provider, technique demander, technique suitability, project management, technique holder, project funding, and promotion mechanism in descending degree of concern.
