Breastfeeding education for fathers – importance, necessity and feasibility: a review

Breast milk is the most suitable food for newborns and breastfeeding is an ideal way to nourish infants. However, the current status of breastfeeding is not satisfactory and breastfeeding promotion should be further improved. Breastfeeding education is effective to increase breastfeeding rate, while breastfeeding education for fathers needs further development. Fathers play an important role in breastfeeding and breastfeeding education can enhance their support to breastfeeding. Aimed to draw public attention to breastfeeding education for fathers, the study presents the importance, necessity and feasibility of breastfeeding education for fathers and provides contents and methods for the implementation of the education based on literature reviews.
