Progress in researches on moderating factors in relationship between adverse childhood experiences and health effects

  • Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are common in countries all over the world. ACEs could increase the risk of physical and mental health and behavioral problems in later life. Individual factors such as gender, ethnicity, and psychological characters and environmental factors such as parent-child relationship, social support and medical resources may play moderate roles on the relationship. The study reviews researches on influence of moderating factors on the health effects of ACEs, and provides references for the prevention and control of adverse health outcomes related to ACEs.
