Implementation effects of National Basic Public Health Service Project: a review

  •   Objective  To examine implementation effects of National Basic Public Health Service Project (NBPHSP).
      Methods  We systematically searched Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Weipu Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP), Wanfang Database, Medline, and Embase for studies on the evaluation of NBPHSP published from January 2009 till December 2018. Structure-process-result framework was used to analyze effects of NBPHSP implementation.
      Results  Totally 24 literatures were included in the analysis. The implementation of NBPHSP achieved certain effects in structure, process and results, with continuously improved service system, fund raising, performance appraisal, project organization and enhanced equalization and quality of medical service.
      Conclusion  The implementation of NBPHSP has achieved periodic results but efforts still need to be taken for sustainable development of NBPHSP.
