The Effect of Water-soluble Contents of Cigarette Smoke on in Vitro Meiotic Maturation and in Vitro Fertilization of Mouse Oocyte

  • In this Paper, the effect of three kinds of water-soluble contents of cigarette smoke(WSCS)from different places of production on in vitro meiotic maturation and in vitro fertilization(IVF) of mouse oocyte was studied by culture of mouse oocyte and IVF. The results showed that WSCS could inhibit the extruding of the first polar body and reduce the rate of IVF.It could also affect the quality and the viability of mouse oocyte with little impact on the ger minal vesicle breakdown(GVBD).The results indicated that the major components of cigarette smoking were water-soluble contents which may be hazardous to the meiotic matur ation of mouse oocyte and reduce the fertile capacity and result in toxicity to women.s oocyte and feartility function.the results also showed that the toxicity effects of different brands from differen places of production might be similarity.
