Isolation and Identification of Strain of the Bacterium Accumulated Poly-β-hytdroxyalkanoate

The bacterium of No.of strain accumulated poly-β hydroxyalkanoate(PHA)was isolated from soil in the suburb of Beijing,and was characterized and identified as Xanthobacter autotrophicus by comparing with the typical characters in Bergey's Manual of Determinative Bacteriology(ninth edition).The optimal condition of the culture was studied.By identifying purifed PHA by ¹H-NMR,PHA was a composition of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB)and poly-β-hydroxyvalerate(PHV).The ratio of PHB to PHV is 1:216.The highest content of PHA was 62.70% (W/DW)by couturing the baeteria in 2% GH medium.
