Effects of the Couple Exposures to the Mixed Benzene on Gestational Processes and Pregnancy Outcomes

  • ObjectiveTo study the effects of the couple exposure to the mixed benzene including benzene,toluene and xylene on the gestational processes and pregnancy outcomes.MethodsThe gestational processes and preg nancy outcomes were investigated by a retrospective cohort study in a large petrochemical corporation.ResultsThe incidence rates of edema and anaemia in pregnancy,spontaneous abortion and birth defects were the highest in the paternal and maternal exposure group while the rates were the lowest in the non-exposed paternal and maternal group,there existed a significant difference between them(P<0.05).ConclusionThe gestational complication and the adverse pregnancy outcomes were aggravated by the females worker's husbands simultaneously exposure to mixed benzene.
