The Changes of the Contents of Blood Sugar and Bile Acid in Serum of the Workers Exposed to Trinitrotoluene and the Patients Suffered from Chronic Hepatitis B

  • ObjectiveTo study indexes of health surv eillance forearly liver damage of the workers exposed to trinitr otoluene.MethodsThe inspection of occupational health were conducted in a TNT explosive plantin Shandong Province and the contents of blood sugar and bile acid in serum of the workers exposed to trinitrotoluene and the patients suffered from chronic hepatitis Bwere analyzed.ResultsThe average TNT concentrations in the air of workshops were beyond the national maximum allowable concentration(MAC=1mg/m3)and the skin of TNT exposed workers were seriously contaminated with TNT.The content of blood sugar, the contents of total cholesterol and bile acid in serum of the TNT exposed group were much higher than those for the control group(P<0.01).The content of blood sugar, the content of bile acid in serum of the chronic hepatitis B group wer much higher than those of the control g roup(P<0.01).The content of total cholesterol in serum of the chronic hepatitis B group almost approached the level of that of the control group.ConclusionIt suggested that the changes of blood sugar and bile acid in serum of TNT exposed workers might serve as indexes of health surveillance forearly liver damage induced with TNT.
