An Analysis on the Death Causes and the YPLL of the Population in Jiangxi Province Disease Surveillance Point System(DSP)from 1997 to 1998

ObjectiveIn order to find out the mian death causes and the YPLL of the inhabitant and to offer scientific basis for the policy of idsease cortrol.MethodsBy the index of mortalnit rates,YPLL,standardied mortality rates,standar died YPLL rates,the causes of potential years of life lost and death of the in-habitant were analysised.ResultsThe reported mor tality ratenw as 414.85/105n,the standardied mortality rate was 345.41/105.The standardied one was higher in rural areas(376.93/105)than in urban areas(247.6/105),and higher in male(437.01/105)nthan in female(263.83/105).The first four kinds of death causes was Cardiovascular,Injuries,Malignant tumourand diseases of the respiratory system.The YPLL of 1-70 age group was 50571,According to the stadardied YPLL rate,the first three kinks of death causes leading to life lost was Injuries,Malig nant tumourand Car-diovascular.There were different characteristics for each kinds of age group.ConclusionThe results suggeted that we should rake countermeasures to prevent and cure of chronic diseases such as Cardiovascular,Malignant tumour,and to reduce the occurrence of Injuries.
