Study the Effects of Selenium on Lipid Peroxidation and Antioxidant Enzyme of Alveolar Macrophage by Quarts

Objective To study the effects and mechanism of selenium on the injury of alveolar macrophage(AM)exposed in vitro to quartz.Methods The different malondialdehyde(MDA) quantity and superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity were determined after AM exposed in vitro to quartz and different dose of selenium.Results Selenium could inhibit the production of MDA in AM.1.0×10^-4 mo l/L selenium had the most obvious inhibitory effect.Selenium could also increase the activity of SOD in AM with an obvious doser esponse relationship.Conclusion Selenium could antagonize the lipid peroxidation of alveolar marophage by quartz.
