Health Investigation on Cadmium-exposed Population in a Lead-Znic Mine and its Cadmium-polluted Area

  • Objective To investigate the health status of cadmium-exposed population in a Lead-Zinc mine and its cadmiumpolluted area so as to provide infomation for discrimination of chronic cadmium poisoning caused by environmental pollution. Methods The urine samples of 84 cases whose bone density was less than X-S were collected and 22 cases whose bone density was less than X-2S were examined by X-ray further more. Results Urine Cadmium,NA G,β2-MG were 14.48μg/g·cr,14.46U/g·cr and 404.59μg/g·cr respectively.Ninteen cases suffered from osteoporosis and/or osteomalacia in variety degree. Conclusion It was practicable that urinary cadmium more than 15μg/g·cr was used to discriminate the late-stage cases of chronic cadmium poisoning caused by environmental pollution.
