Analysis on Mental Health of Military University Freshman

  • Objective In order to investigate the mental health status and characteristics in military university freshman,a cross section study was conducted.Methods Three hundred and fourty four students in 2 different administrative levels were investigated,using the Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90)、Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)、Center for Epidemiology Studies Depression Scale(CES-D)、self-rating character.Results Of all the SCL-90 symptoms of military freshman,the most prominent symptoms were obsession,interpersonal sensitivity,hostility and paranoia.All indexes of SCL-90 except for bodized symptom paranoia and hostility were significant different in character inside and outside students.Moreover,depression graded more than 20 in character inside and outside were 39.2% and 12% respectively(P<0.01).Conclusion Results show that characterristics inside and outside students had significant different mental health status.And we can guide the student in different ways according to their characteristics.
