Analysis on Mental Health of Military University Freshman

Objective In order to investigate the mental health status and characteristics in military university freshman,a cross section study was conducted.Methods Three hundred and fourty four students in 2 different administrative levels were investigated,using the Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90)、Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)、Center for Epidemiology Studies Depression Scale(CES-D)、self-rating character.Results Of all the SCL-90 symptoms of military freshman,the most prominent symptoms were obsession,interpersonal sensitivity,hostility and paranoia.All indexes of SCL-90 except for bodized symptom paranoia and hostility were significant different in character inside and outside students.Moreover,depression graded more than 20 in character inside and outside were 39.2% and 12% respectively(P<0.01).Conclusion Results show that characterristics inside and outside students had significant different mental health status.And we can guide the student in different ways according to their characteristics.
