Effects of Temperature on Calcium-activated Potassium Channels(KCa) in Hypothalamic

  • ObjectiveTo study the effects of temperature on calcium-activated potassium channels(KCa)in hypothalamic neurons of new-born SD rats.MethodsThe data was recorded by adopting inside-out configuration of patch-clamp technique.ResultsAs the temperature increased, peak conductance and open probability(P0)of the channel increased greatly. When the temperature was at 37℃ and 39℃,the Q10 of the conductance and P0 was 1.63、1.86 and 2.83、3.56.The time constants had temperature-dependent reductions.ConclusionThese results indicated the calcium2activated potassium channels in hypothalamic neurons had high temperature sensitivity, more researches on it may be helpful to elucidate the mechanism of temperature regulation of animals.
