Surveillance on Emergency Cases with Road Traffic Injuries and Intervention Taken by Local Government

  • ObjectiveTo explore the happening details of road traffic injuries and help government to take intervention.MethodsEpidemiological study was conducted by questionnaire in 311 emergency cases with road traffic injuries from a hospital.ResultsIn all cases,motorcyclists and their passengers accounted for 44.2%,pedestrians 33.4%,bicyclists 15.8%, persons in automobiles 8.3%.60.7% cases were injured by motorcycle accidents.43.8% pedestrian and 29.5% bicyclists were injured when they crossed the road where were not pedestrian crossing.91.4% cases reached the hospital within 1 hour after accidents.ConclusionTo monitor dynamically the emergency cases with road traffic injury can find out the common causes and places of traffic injury within small local areas,and help local government to take preventive measures.
